CHEP is known for its pallets; our plants repair, respray and clean our pallet pool to allow them to be reused. This role will play a key role supporting maintenance of our on-site customer solutions for customers who have high volumes. We are looking for an electrically qualified maintenance engineer, who can be mobile to support multiple sites; including Wigan, Goole and occasionally Teesport. You will manage your own diary & time and have access to a company van and tools. The job will be to carry out PPM and remedial work at site, coordinating time with the Plants directly and working as part of the wider On-Site Solutions team.

Key responsibilities:
- Manage planned work requirements and contractors as part of the maintenance intervention activities (preventive or corrective).
- Identify, report and resolve health and safety concerns with the equipment and building services.
- Ensure breakdowns of equipment are rectified in a safe and efficient manner.
- Manage and develop the PPM programme, ensuring that the scheduled work is carried out.
- Control spares and consumables stocks with high accuracy, avoiding unnecessary inventory.
- Procurement of spares and equipment needed to ensure continued operations.
- Support the Process Reliability Program for site equipment. Ensure areas of losses are identified and reduced or eliminated.
What you'll need:
- 18th Edition wiring regulations
- City and Guilds, apprenticeship
- Site based or field-based maintenance experience, reactive and proactive.
- HND, HNC or similar in an engineering-related discipline
- Well organised and able to manage your own diary
- Purchasing of spare parts and equipment, managing the stock and cost.
- PLC fault finding, PLC or computer programming knowledge is desirable.
- Efficient and flexible approach to working, including being available to give advice over the phone and for infrequent call-outs.
