Alive Church, St George's Gateshead

Salary: £25,410 - £31,185

We are an HTB Network Church based in the North East with a vision to see individuals, the church and our communities Come Alive in Jesus' name. We are seeking a Worship Pastor to lead our worship both on Sundays and midweek and resource all ages to worship. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Scripture, believes in the life-transforming power of the Holy Spirit and is able to lead charismatic worship that releases people to love God, love people and follow Jesus.

The Worship Pastor is a key role within Alive Church shaping the culture of worship for the Church. Working alongside the leadership team, you will encourage and pursue Spirit-filled worship whilst encouraging our worship team to offer their best as they serve the church. This is a key role that will work closely with the church leaders and leadership team, where together you'll discern where God is leading the church and develop a big vision for Alive worship.

Responsibilities:

  • Hold a big vision for enabling worship at Alive Church, and the ability to pioneer and grow this in new and innovative ways.
  • Create and implement a strategy to resource worship for all ages across the church.
  • Recruit, develop and pastor a worship team, including the development of a pathway into worship leading.
  • Plan gatherings in partnership with the leadership team, and gathering leaders.
  • Ensure Sunday worship is well resourced, well organised and well led.
  • Enable worship in other ministry areas, including mid-week, Alive Kids and Alive Youth, Alpha and Alive Communities.
  • Lead by example in worship and lead worship at morning prayers and prayer gatherings.
  • Seek to identify new resources and songs for the church.
  • Define and manage a budget for worship and production resources.
  • Work alongside the production team to ensure excellence in audio, visual and production.
  • For a full-time role, additional responsibilities could include production, working as part of the creative team or leading one of our people ministries, dependent on experience.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading worship at all levels, including congregational level.
  • Experience in building, developing and pastoring a worship team and worship leaders.
  • Skilled musician and singer with knowledge and experience in the area of contemporary worship.
  • Good knowledge of music theory.
  • Great team player who is able to support, encourage and develop others.
  • Experience of working with young people and families and desire to create spaces for them to engage with worship.
  • Advanced production and IT skills including familiarity with ProPresenter.
  • Self-motivated and flexible attitude.
  • Seeking to follow Jesus in every area of your life.
  • Practical experience in pastoral ministry.
  • Academic qualifications relevant to role (e.g. Music and theology).
  • Experience in administration and budget management.

Hours: 37.5 hours Sunday-Thursday. You need to be available to work key events at Alive Church including Christmas, Easter and festivals (including Focus). Alongside this, you will play an active part in the life of the church including Alive Communities.
