Alpha provides specialist dementia care for service users living with complex dementia, supporting them throughout their journey. As an Activities/Reminiscence Coordinator (RC), you’ll facilitate meaningful activities that provide emotional and mental stimulation, improving the wellbeing and quality of life for our residents. Responsibilities include: Developing individual life history profiles to personalize activities. Planning and delivering relevant reminiscence activities. Guiding the care team in activity delivery. Promoting resident choice in care plans. Collaborating with RCs across services for a calendar of events. Educating others on the positive impact of reminiscence therapy. Youll also work closely with residents, families, and carers to create meaningful memory boxes and ensure all media used (TV, music, etc.) is tailored to residents’ needs. Promoting socialization, supporting community outings, and encouraging outdoor activities are key aspects of the role. Essential Requirements: Good general education (GCSE or equivalent). Experience in dementia care, including palliative care. Experience in a similar role within a care home setting. Knowledge of health and safety in care settings.
