About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Learning and Development manager to join our team and play a key role in shaping, evolving and delivering our Learning and Development strategy. This role offers the perfect platform to make a meaningful impact by using your L&D expertise and implementing your ideas. There will be lots to get involved with in this role, but some examples of what you’ll be working on are:

  • Developing our early careers and trainee processes, focusing on learner support, success and retention.
  • Designing and delivering development programmes and solutions that build our colleague, leader, team and business capabilities.
  • Developing a programme to assist with the elevating high performing colleagues throughout the company.
  • Oversee general business training and development, including compliance, soft skills development and best practice.
  • Working with our People partners, Talent acquisition manager and external partners to ensure our apprentice schemes are effective and well managed.
  • Developing our induction plans for trainees and experienced hires.

About the Team:

The People team is led by our Chief People Officer and we’re made up of 7 supportive and forward-thinking professionals who are as committed to each other as they are to the wider business. We have three people partners, a talent acquisition manager, a talent acquisition co-ordinator and a HR administrator. We’re spread over several of the BHP offices. Ideally our L&D specialist would be based in Sheffield but we will consider all of our office locations.

The details:

We know it's annoying when businesses don’t post salaries! As this role is new to the business we’re keen to hear what skills and experience candidates could bring to the role, so the salary range for the role is dependent on this.

  • 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.
  • Pension contributions of 5.3%, when you contribute 3.2%

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience in a L&D, instructional design, or training facilitation role.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories, delivery styles and training methods.
  • Awareness of L&D technology (eg. LMS, e-learning platforms).
  • Solid experience of L&D within a professional services environment.
  • Awareness of apprenticeship routes and early careers schemes.
  • Experience of working with skills frameworks.
  • The ability to work on both strategy and delivery.
  • The confidence to deliver engaging training sessions and coaching workshops.

Whilst not essential, it would be great if you have:

  • CIPD Diploma in Organisational L&D or similar.
  • Experience working in the accountancy sector.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship funding and requirements.
