We’re excited to set up a new model of supported accommodation within Stockton to support young people aged 16 - 25 and families who are at risk of homelessness. The service provision is a scheme based service with 12 self-contained flats for young people. As a result of successfully securing funding, we have a new support worker role available. The vacancy is initially until September 2026; however we have ambition to deliver this service beyond then, subject to funding.
The intention is to support young people to develop independent living skills in a safe comfortable environment enabling them to access services and eventually move on independently. We will support families at risk of homelessness by accommodating them in two bedroomed fully furnished flats whilst supporting them to overcome barriers to rehousing. The accommodation and support is a short term intervention to move people on into long term homes.
What are we looking for?
Our Supported Housing Services have a strong reputation across the sector and beyond due to the commitment of our staff. You will be passionate about providing the best possible support service to people who access our service. You’ll support some of the most vulnerable people in our society to develop aspirations and goals to enable them to thrive and strive.
This is not a nine to five job, and you will be required to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service, this includes the necessity to work evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays over 35 hours per week. You will have a strong sense of social purpose and be committed to making a difference.
