Head of Post Production

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Post-Production to lead our client’s post-production department. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of the post-production process, ensuring that all content meets their creative and technical standards while being delivered on time. Our client is looking for someone with a strong background in editing and post production; this role would be ideal for an editor who has moved up to post production.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of editors, sound engineers, and motion graphic designers.
  2. Develop and implement efficient workflows and processes for the post-production department.
  3. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  4. Foster a collaborative and creative working environment.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical or creative issues during post-production.
  6. Stay up-to-date with the latest technology, innovations, and software.
  7. Implement and maintain industry-standard post-production tools and systems.
  8. Oversee the management, storage, and archiving of all post-production assets.
  9. Support the team by contributing to editing and motion graphics on suitable projects.

Essential Skills:

  1. Minimum of 7 years of experience in post-production, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  2. Expert knowledge of Avid Media Composer, Adobe Creative Suite, and DaVinci Resolve (Pro Tools and Cinema 4D knowledge is a bonus).
  3. Strong background in editing.
  4. Strong understanding of video editing, colour correction, sound design, and VFX workflows.
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  7. Creative problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  8. Willingness to work long hours when needed, often under pressure.

Location: Hertfordshire borders, just outside NW London (3 days in office, 1-2 days remote)

Position: Full-Time (9am – 6pm Mon to Fri)

Salary Range: (subject to experience) 65-85k
