About the Role
As an Associate Director, Loan Structuring & Execution (“LS&E ”) Europe, you will be responsible for the structuring, negotiation, documentation and execution of ANZ tailored bilateral, club and syndicated lending facilities for our international customers. This role assists with a broad range of lending transactions originated from Institutional Banking, Syndications and Specialised Lending. Members of the LS&E team form part of the Bank’s front office deal team and take a leading role in the structuring, negotiation, documentation and execution of tailored lending facilities. Loan Structuring & Execution is a center of excellence, providing a service proposition of value to customers by sustaining quality and excellence in the execution of mandated lending transactions.

What will your day look like?
- Ensure all transactions are structured, negotiated and executed to enhance ANZ’s reputation and act as a market differentiator, improve customer satisfaction levels and facilitate increased origination.
- Build & maintain collaborative and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the execution of all externally documented debt transactions (syndicated/distributed; club and bi-lateral facilities).
- Leverage networks to acquire market intelligence, drive opportunities and influence the shaping of market terms and conditions.
- Lead negotiations with lawyers and consultants to clearly define and document terms and conditions between the customer and ANZ (including covenants) when extending credit and ensure security documentation is enforceable and current.
- Drive adherence to all regulatory and compliance measures.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Qualified lawyer (PQE target level of 5 years) with varied private practice experience of lending transactions in a City banking and finance department. Any in-house legal experience would be a bonus.
- Strong leadership and business management skills.
- Highly developed commercial and analytical judgment of transactions and deals.
- Well-developed influencing, networking and relationship skills and capacity to quickly develop relationships with customers.
- Good understanding of complex finance markets.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Knowledge of European languages would be a plus.
