The Role
As a 3rd Line Support Engineer, you will play a critical role within the Service Desk team, acting as a technical escalation point while also being heavily involved in on-site project work. Working closely with the Technical Implementation and Delivery team, you’ll help design, deliver, and implement new IT solutions for clients. This is a hybrid role that allows you to combine hands-on problem-solving with strategic, project-based work.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 3rd Line support for complex technical issues escalated from the Service Desk.
- Implementing and delivering IT solutions, both remotely and on-site, as part of client projects.
- Collaborating with the Technical Implementation and Delivery team to design and execute technical solutions.
- Supporting and maintaining client infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Engaging directly with clients to troubleshoot and resolve advanced IT issues, providing an exceptional customer experience.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and contributing to the continuous improvement of IT services.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience in a 3rd Line Support Engineer role, ideally within an MSP environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Proficiency with networking principles and tools, including firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs.
- Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-focused mindset.
