We seek an experienced, talented, and focused HV/LV Jointer to join our dynamic team currently delivering installation, maintenance, and product support services for HV (High Voltage) assets across the South of England and Scotland.
Lucy Electric is an international leader in intelligent secondary power distribution products and solutions, with features such as remote operation and monitoring. Linking energy generation to consumption, the business specialises in high-performance medium and low-voltage switchgear for utility, industrial and commercial applications.
You will work as part of a highly skilled Engineering division supporting all aspects of HV services to our clients and customers. As part of our team you will get to both support your peers in the delivery of HV engineering and also be required to lead projects when called on. We strive forwards as a team advancing our technical skills, knowledge, and competencies together, whilst ensuring a flexible work life balance is worked into our ethos.
You will be working with a team of skilled HV Engineers, SAPs and supporting staff across all aspects of the HV industry. The role is home based with travel to site works included within your working day. The core hours are 07:30 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 am to 12:00 Friday, depending on operational work and site requirements additional hours will be required. Opportunities to support additional overtime through evenings, weekends and travel abroad are also frequently available.
Key Accountabilities:
- Installation, refurbishment, maintenance of HV equipment
- Interpret electrical drawings and records
- Carry out electrical testing and fault finding
- Carry out mechanical modifications and repairs
- Complete assessment and completion reports
- Sub-station installation, testing and commissioning
- Installation and modification of AC/DC wiring and earthing
- Assess safety and apply controls and safety measures required
- Completing RAMS, job packs, test certificates and reports
- Facilitate a safe working environment during high / low voltage working
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Lucy Electric and its customers
- Maintain authorisations in accordance with legislative safety procedures and industry best practice
- Liaise closely with team to understand and manage priorities
- Attend training and continuous development opportunities as required

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
Essential:
- Certified in electricity at work and experience of delivering efficient and effective services to customers whether on site or at a planning stage from an office environment
- Good knowledge of H&S and its practical implications
- Computer literate – skilled in MS Office
- Technically qualified with a BTEC, C&G or equivalent apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering
- Full driver’s License, willingness to travel and work weekends as overtime or with a day off in the week
Desirable:
- Have, or held authorisations – Private Networks, UKPN, SSEN, WPD
- Proven track record of experience in the Electrical and/or distribution Industry
- Training - first aid, IPAF, PASMA, SMSTS 18th edition / 2391 inspection & testing
- Mentoring of trainees
- Willingness to work weekends and call outs
- Willing to travel abroad to support product and customers (2/3 day trips)
