New Post Interim SEND Tribunal Officer 3 Months Interim Contract Inside IR35 £400P/D Full time – Hybrid London- Local authority

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated SEND Tribunal and Dispute Resolution Lead to join a dynamic team and drive meaningful change within a Local Authority. In this vital role, you will:

  • Provide leadership in tribunal cases and formal disagreements, representing the Local Authority in legal settings and defending proposed service provisions.
  • Prepare comprehensive evidence for tribunals and the Local Government Ombudsman, liaising with SEND services, legal teams, and multi-agency practitioners.
  • Promote mediation and early problem resolution to reduce tribunal cases and achieve timely, collaborative outcomes.
  • Lead resolution meetings, negotiating adjustments to Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans where necessary to meet the needs of children and families.
  • Build relationships with schools and agencies to enhance best practices in assessment, planning, and person-centred approaches.

To thrive in this role, you will need to:

  • Be a highly organised individual with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of SEND legislation, processes, and best practices.
  • Be confident in representing the Local Authority in formal legal settings, including SEND Tribunal hearings.
  • Have experience in mediation and resolving disputes sensitively and effectively.
  • Show strong analytical skills, using data and insights to drive service improvements.
