Business Unit: Chief Operating Office

Salary range: £40,800 - £55,000 per annum

Location: UK Hybrid, with occasional travel to our hubs in Glasgow / Newcastle

This role will be based within the Route to Live Team within IT Operations. The position is for a Senior Mainframe Engineer who will be a key member of the team responsible for supporting the Group’s non-production mainframe environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for providing support for all quality Engineering services or technical expertise initially within the IBM Mainframe specialism.
  • Delivery of a wide range of testing commitments to our stakeholders, whilst complying with current security policy and test environment procedures.
  • Engagement with and providing support to, and present appropriate challenge to many roles across the Portfolios.
  • Liaising with Technical Specialists and Environment Managers to provide technical advice and guidance within own area of expertise.
  • Engage with various stakeholders such as Quality Engineers, Quality Leads and Developers.

We need you to have:

  • Good technical knowledge of the Testing Environment.
  • Experience of providing technical guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience of CICS & Batch schedule setup and execution.
  • Experience of CICS & Batch schedule/execution issue resolution.
  • Familiar with Environment/application/schedule cloning.
  • Working knowledge of IBM Endevor.
  • Competent with JCL, TWS(OPC) and SDSF.

It’s a bonus if you have but not essential:

  • Assess deploy and where necessary correct REX code delivered by various engineering rooms.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry.
