Job Overview
As Accounts Assistant you will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations across all UK group companies. This position is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable within established monthly deadlines.
Key Deliverables & Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the Purchase Ledger, ensuring it remains up-to-date and accurate.
- Invoice Management: Receiving, verifying, and processing invoices for payment.
- Payment Processing: Ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
- Reconciliation: Matching purchase orders with invoices and reconciling accounts payable ledgers.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate financial records for auditing and tax purposes including organising and maintaining financial documentation to ensure efficient and speedy retrieval.
- Communication: Liaising with vendors and resolving payment discrepancies.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures.
- Perform reconciliation of all company bank accounts.
- Reconcile the Amazon account as part of the overall financial process.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including providing detailed cost analysis.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Assist in the processing of payroll and manage the payment of PAYE (Pay As You Earn).
- Create and manage monthly journal entries as required.
