Project Director – Civil Rail – Central London
A Major Main Contractor with a £1.8bn turnover are seeking to recruit a Project Director due to continual expansion and winning new work in the Rail Sector. The role is based in Central London and projects will be throughout London and the M25 area, typically around £50m each.
Based from their project offices in Central London, the Project Director will report into the Rail Sector Director and will be responsible for the delivery of Multiple Rail Station Frameworks. This position would suit those with previous experience at Project Delivery, Framework Delivery, or Contracts Management/Senior Project Manager level.
Key Duties
- Ensure constant point of contact with clients from project award to completion of maintenance responsibilities.
- Establish suitably competent teams for the management, supervision, and execution of projects and ensure adequate resources are maintained to achieve the objectives of the project, within set budgetary limits.
- Monitor project performance in respect of quality and programme to ensure client requirements are met and corporate targets are realised.
- Establish and monitor health and safety, and environmental protection responsibilities on site to ensure compliance with legislation, corporate procedures, and objectives.
- Encourage employee development for project team members in line with competencies – continuous improvement via utilisation of the Performance Management process.
- Participate at corporate level in monitoring and directing the overall performance of the organisation.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience at Project Director, Framework Manager, Contracts Manager, or Senior Project Manager level for a Main UK Contractor.
- Degree/HND in Civil Engineering or Similar.
- 10 years+ Experience on UK based Civil Engineering Projects.
- Ideally worked on more than one Rail Project or has 2 years+ experience working on a Civil Rail Project.
- Knowledge of overseeing Rail Station projects.
- Excellent communication, Microsoft Office and interpersonal skills.
- Been in mainly, preferably all, permanent roles (not freelance).
