Direct Reports: NPD Technologist
Role Purpose: To manage and lead the development and formulation of new products, the redevelopment of existing products through process development and the maintenance of ongoing product compliance, as required by the business and customer needs and in line with BRC and legal requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
- Concept to launch Product Development (NPD & EPD) in line with customer requirements, encompassing all the tasks throughout including, but not limited to:
- Recipe development, project management & presentation of products to customers
- Sourcing new raw materials / identifying new suppliers / obtaining costs / specifications
- Sample preparation / distribution to customers
- Assist Implementation Technologist with NPD trials & launches (Conduct during absence)
- Organising nutritional analysis
- Attending Quality Panel when required
- Lead competitor benchmarking sessions
- Work with Specifications Technologist to complete specifications and/or submission forms
- Sensory panels/tests
- Reviewing and approving artwork
- Keeping up to date with the latest food trends
- Deputise for Head of NPD when required.
- Manage NPD Technologist.
Person Specification:
- A degree in relevant discipline (or equivalent industrial experience)
- Excellent communication, organisational, sensory & creative skills
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, prioritising / managing multiple projects
- Excellent attention to detail.
