EMBS Engineering has been exclusively retained by a well-established, highly reputable advanced manufacturing precision engineering business in Northampton to identify a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join their business on a permanent basis. Our client has built their reputation as a market-leading business in the design and manufacturing of highly complex metallic components for high-profile industries including Motorsport. With a global footprint and being well known for their excellent manufacturing capabilities, delivering high-quality components to lucrative customers across the world, this is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager who is looking to utilise experience and expertise.
The role entails managing a team of Manufacturing Engineers to ensure manufacturing success through fast development and small production runs of the whole spectrum of components across all projects. Main focus points will be:
- Management and development of existing engineers, providing technical assistance and support
- Provide quotations for customers ensuring cost savings initiatives are being utilised
- Identify new more efficient/productive methods of manufacture to ensure they retain a competitive edge over their competition and provide the best service to their customers
- Lead and implement investigation and continuous improvement activities and strategies

As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be a natural leader with strong motivational skills and the personal drive to improve the business, develop strong teams and build excellent relationships with customers and suppliers. In order to be considered for this exciting opportunity, successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:
- Minimum of 3 years + Management experience within positions such as; Engineering / Manufacturing / Technical Management
- Confidence managing a team, driving change and implementing new processes
- Operated within precision engineering / advanced manufacturing environments that manufacture parts through machining processes to highly regulated industries such as; Automotive, Motorsport, Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear etc.
- Strong understanding of machining and associated processes
- Offline programming / CADCAM and CNC experience is essential
- Worked with modern, state of the art machines
- Ability to create quotations for customers and look at cost savings initiatives
- Ability to problem solve, investigate and provide solutions effectively
- Agile approach with the ability to pivot and adapt to new demands and fluctuating workloads
- Worked within a fast paced, demanding environment
- Experience with complex components for high profile customers
- Proficiency around machine tooling requirements
- Technically minded
- Focused on continuous improvement and looking at fresh ideas to drive change
