Cloud Consultant – Azure

An opportunity has arisen for a proven, customer facing Coud Consultant, with extensive Azure experience to join our customer on an initial 3-month contract. You will play a pivotal role in guiding customers on their cloud journey, from architectural design, delivery and into operational support. You will be a trusted expert, providing best practice guidance on technical architecture, cost optimization, security, and governance principles.

What you will be doing:

• Collaborate with the pre-sales team on Azure opportunities.
• Guide customers through their cloud migration journeys, being the go-to Cloud and Azure SME for clients.
• Serve as a Cloud Advisor, optimise costs, performance, and advise on best practice security methods while achieving operational excellence.
• Understanding Cloud service technical/non-technical requirements, through to delivery and operational support.
• Proficiency in core Azure services: Azure VM, Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Functions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Architect and migrate customer infrastructure to Microsoft Azure Cloud, and core services.
• Design & deploy secure, best practice-compliant technical solutions that align with customer IT strategies.
• Implement and manage Azure solutions with a focus on automation and DevOps practices.
• Work across various customers operational teams to design and deploy robust cloud environments.
• Demonstrate commercial acumen, understanding the financial aspects of Azure.
• Expertise in cloud architecture, including designing and implementing public and private cloud solutions.
• Strong data management skills: data storage solutions, data migration, & database management using Azure.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines, automation, and collaboration.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Python for automating tasks and managing Azure resources.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure networking components, including hub & spoke topology, vWAN, and Azure Firewall.
• Experience in designing and implementing Azure resources with a zero-trust approach, enforcing least-privilege access principles, and assuming breach to limit risk.
• Comfortable with creating and/or maintaining architectural documentation including LLD/HLDs.
• Knowledge of Azure AI services and tools, such as Azure Machine Learning and Azure AI Studio.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and effective troubleshooting skills.
• Big Picture mindset, and working with customers to transform their infrastructure
• Technical experience in:
• Cloud Migrations
• Infrastructure as Code (ideally Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, DevOps automation
• Azure Networking
• Azure Identity
• Azure Virtual Desktop
• Azure App Services & Azure Logic Apps
• Azure SQL
• Cloud-native architecture (containers, serverless, and other services)
• Hybrid Cloud environments
