For Companies An exceptional Secondary School in Newham, East London is searching for an ADHD Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Year 8 with ADHD (on the mild side of the spectrum). As an ADHD Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting a Year 8 child who has moderate ADHD, meaning he is capable of functioning at a high level but does need additional support with behaviour and concentration.
Job Details
- Duty: Working 1:1 with a child in a Year 8 class
- Contract: Full Time, Long Term (Full Academic Year)
- Location: Newham, East London
- Rate: £95 - £115 per day (paid weekly)

The ideal candidate:
- Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
- Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
Requirement:
- Must have some recent SEN Experience
- Candidates must have a valid DBS certificate on the update service (Not mandatory as we can provide one)
- Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with behavioural problems
- Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
- Safeguarding experience
