Market-leading life sciences and pharmaceutical organisation require a Global Distribution Manager. Applicants need experience of developing global logistics and distribution strategies, owning freight budgets, and 3PL management.
The Global Distribution Manager will be responsible for leading all distribution strategies and operations, 3PL budget and a freight spend of approximately £30m. Leading a team of 2-3 direct reports, the Global Distribution Manager will look to maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and optimize operational logistics costs. The role offers strong hybrid/remote working options, and travel will be mainly focused around the UK and Europe, less than 25%.
Specific duties of the Global Distribution Manager include:
- Develop and implement global distribution strategies - UK, Europe, USA
- Ownership and Management of 3PL relationship - Warehousing & Transportation
- Oversee day-to-day operations of global distribution network
- Ownership of £30m Freight budget - targeting 2-5% savings per year
- Management of 2-3 direct reports - Freight Manager and an Analyst
- Presenting reports and data during senior stakeholder meetings
Global Distribution Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Experience in a logistics, supply chain or distribution strategic leadership role
- Previous exposure to a regulated industry; medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceutical, food or a temperature controlled environment is advantageous
- Experience of managing large scale 3PLs and knowledge of Freight markets and import/export
- Experience using SAP, logistics software and Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field
