Development Technologist

Smart4Chemicals are currently recruiting for a Polymer Technologist in the Northumberland area.

As a Polymer Technologist you will be responsible for developing and optimising coating formulations and techniques in addition to providing technical support to internal and external stakeholders.

To be considered for the role of Polymer Technologist you must possess previous hands-on industrial experience within coatings. You must also have a good understanding polymers, resins, surface coatings and decorating technologies.

Role requirements

• Minimum of a degree in Chemistry, Polymers or Materials Science. PhD candidates are also encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience in the coatings industry is essential.
• Driving licence may also be required for the attendance of client visits.

Role responsibilities

• Develop and optimise coating formulations and techniques including UV and 2K lacquers.
• Design and implement novel water-based inks and primers, enhancing performance and sustainability across products.
• Support product qualification and approval programs.
• Conducting lab experiments and testing to evaluate the properties and characteristics of films and surface coatings
