As a Full-Time Art Therapist, you will work closely with students, staff, and parents to provide emotional support and therapeutic interventions. Using the power of art, you will help children express their thoughts and feelings in a safe and creative environment. You will work with students individually and in small groups, assisting them in coping with challenges such as anxiety, trauma, self-esteem issues, and more., * Plan and deliver tailored art therapy sessions for students, both individually and in small groups.

Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff to identify students in need of support.

Maintain detailed records of sessions and track student progress.

Work closely with families and caregivers, providing feedback and guidance on how to support children at home.

Contribute to a whole-school approach to mental health and well-being.

Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
Essential:
-
Recognized qualification in Art Therapy (MA or equivalent).

Registration with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council).

Experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting.

Strong understanding of child development and mental health issues.

Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with children, parents, and staff.

Creative, empathetic, and patient approach to therapy.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable:

Experience working with children with special educational needs or trauma.

Familiarity with safeguarding procedures in a school setting.

Experience conducting workshops or training for staff.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
