Business Development Manager required for a conveyor belt manufacturer for various different industries including FMCG based in Sittingbourne. The successful candidate would be responsible for developing and maintaining business with the nominated export customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and develop marketing opportunities to appoint distributors, agents, and sales partners.
- Assist in developing and executing the appropriate Sales & Marketing strategies for the nominated export countries.
- Provide customer, competitor, and market data to assist in the development and implementation of strategies for the overall Export Sales and Marketing plan.
- Achieve the company's Sales & Marketing objectives by implementing agreed marketing plans, exhibition visits, training and monitoring results.
- Ensure effective relationships are maintained with all customers, including distributors, OEMs and end-users.
- Prepare strategic and annual Sales & Marketing plans including sales revenue & expenditure.
- Provide the BDM Team Leader (Export) with sales budgets and monthly reports to monitor sales and business activities.
- Identify and manage threats and opportunities to Wire Belt's export business.
- Propose, appoint, monitor, and liaise with Agents, Distributors and Sales Partners within allocated geographic region.
- Gather, investigate, and summarise market data, competition, product performance and trends.
- Assist the Marketing department in devising and implementing Regional and Global marketing plans.
- Ensure compliance with Data Protection (GDPR) UK and health and safety requirements.
- Aid colleagues to develop tools and systems that deliver increasing levels of professional customer service.
- Hold regular meetings with colleagues to resolve problems and discuss and implement solutions.
- Assist in implementing lean principles and strategies to improve the export business.
- Develop and maintain Wire Belt's family values in relationships with colleagues.
Job Requirements:
- Degree qualification in business management or equivalent / Qualified by experience.
- Competent technical qualification or experience.
- Mechanically biased background.
- Experience in sales and business development in international markets, preferably in food and/or manufacturing sectors.
- English and French speaking (additional languages would be an advantage).
- Available for International travel up to 40% of the time.

- Salary dependent on experience and will be discussed on initial call.
