Job Title: Senior Professional Indemnity Development Underwriter - 12 month contract

Purpose of role:
- Support the Head of Professional Indemnity in developing strategy, setting underwriting guidelines, product development, handling underwriter referrals, broker and underwriter education, and keeping up to date with market and legislative changes or developments on a 12 month term.
- Provide efficient and accurate case by case underwriting decisions in line with strategy and operational plans.
- Assist in the design and development of innovative solutions to create new and improve existing products (e.g. policy wordings, new products) to ensure they remain competitive in the market in line with treating the customer fairly (TCF) principles and contribute to the company becoming a significant professional indemnity market in the UK.
- Conduct underwriting and scheme audits both remotely and on site to ensure they are meeting FSA requirements, company underwriting philosophies, and working within their empowerment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that business needs are achieved.
- Train, coach, and develop underwriters, sales staff, and brokers to ensure they are competent in their role through improved knowledge.
Experience:
- You must have 5-8 years experience in Development Underwriting of Professional Indemnity and Directors & Officers risks.
- Must have a strong understanding and experience in Professional and Financial line business.
- You should be educated to degree level or equivalent business underwriting experience.
