Seize this opportunity as a Project Controller for a market leading global energy business. My client is the global leader in its sector delivering all critical equipment to contribute to a Net-Zero electricity network.

The Project Controller will liaise extensively with both internal and external stakeholders, and be accountable to manage a number of portfolio projects. You will be at the sharp end of the customer experience requiring a proactive, results driven approach within a fast-paced culture where you will drive results as you implement and execute your projects from set up through to final completion. Ensuring that all related activities are performed in accordance with contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, budgetary controls and financial targets.

The Project Controller's Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing customer projects, from single unit switchgear deliveries to multi-million pounds Gas Insulated Switchgear projects.
  • Work closely with factories, customers and our Service team when required to ensure satisfactory delivery of the project.
  • Commercial responsibility for the project financial KPIs: cost, revenues, cash flow.
  • Making key decisions acting as main point of contact with the customer.
  • Planning and scheduling projects from start to completion.
  • Following best practice according to policy and contractual agreements.
  • Mitigating risks and acting as escalation point for project issues.
  • Flexible approach, actively participating in driving the project plan forward and generating outcomes.
  • Analysis of data, creating and sharing accurate project plans with regular updates.

The successful Project Controller will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience and understanding of High Voltage switchgear.
  • Comprehension of English language both spoken and in writing. Both fluent and accurate - able to negotiate at all levels internally and externally. Other languages are considered advantageous.
  • Flexible to travel to UK to customer sites and abroad to various manufacturing facilities as required.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Team player, who holds themselves accountable being ready to collaborate with others committed to achieve the end goal.
  • Financially literate – able to read financial statements and negotiate costs.
  • Systematic, proactive approach and efficient time management.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager / Controller in the construction or Energy industry managing high-value projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications such as ACCA/ACA/ACMA.
