Purpose of the role Colas Ltd have an opportunity for an experienced Street Lighting Supervisor ITS (Integrated Transport Systems) to join the team based in Peacehaven (BN10 8AP). Reporting to the ITS Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for scheduling, compiling and coordinating the support services within our Street Lighting team to facilitate the timely and efficient installation of street lighting products. To support the company in developing new business within the street lighting sector through your expert knowledge and experience. Main Responsibilities As a Street Lighting Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the contract manager in decision making, by communicating all administrative, technical and on-site considerations effectively. As well as liaising with the ITS Contract Manager whilst whilst providing and recovering site information to allow the efficient and timely completion of ordered work and monthly invoicing. You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining a programme of street lighting maintenance and installation works in collaboration with other ITS Street Lighting Supervisors. You will work alongside the Street Lighting Contracts Manager to ensure that all street lighting equipment is registered in accordance with LOLER & PUWER regulations and is made available for periodic inspection. Occasionally, you will undertake site surveys as required, actively participate in internal and external audits and travel between locations. Your duty will require to monitor and report monthly on the Brighton and Hove contract’s KPIs. You will be in charge of preparing and, conducting your team’s annual personal performance appraisals in line with our BU BPI’s and, company CPI’s. You will ensure that all works carried out on any site are undertaken with full regard for the safety of yourself, colleagues, contractors and members of the public. A company van is provided in this role to travel. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have experience of local authority street lighting maintenance, you will have experience with street lighting installation, testing and commissioning. You will have a detailed understanding and knowledge of street lighting site installations and associated street furniture. You will be able to prioritise own and team activities via consultation with the line manager and programme. You will be able to have the ability to effectively influence 1st line management. You will need a full clean UK driving licence, be comfortable working outdoors and be able to travel to sites within the southeast. The successful candidate will hold a ECS/CSCS card and be G39 qualified. City & Guilds Part 1 and 3 Electrical installations or equivalent is desirable but not essential. Site supervisory safety training scheme and Qualifying supervisor qualifications are desirable but not essential, we are looking for someone with the relevant experience and right attitude towards the job.
