What you will be doing in this role: Reporting to the GIS Engineer, the role involves assisting with the management and development of the BSR ArcGIS system to meet the company’s current and future requirements. The candidate should demonstrate a strong eagerness to learn, possess excellent attention to detail, and take personal responsibility for the accuracy of their work.

What we need from you:

  • Provide continual improvement of the Site finding ArcGIS facility.
  • Create professional visualisations to supplement public engagement and planning applications for BSRE schemes and wider business needs.
  • Support the wind development process by optimising and creating new processes.
  • Identify and evaluate, for senior management approval, the development of the ArcGIS system to support other areas of the company’s business.
  • Gather and manage both internal and external data for sharing with the broader business.
  • Help manage the ArcGIS Online environment and associated web applications.
  • Contribute to the integration of planning layouts, site hazard plans and landscape ecological management plans into the GIS system.
  • Assist with the digitisation of construction and 'As Built' drawings as part of building GIS capabilities for construction and asset management.
  • Support site finding’s survey and design processes from a GIS perspective.
  • Updating key data/maps into the system as required to support the business needs.
  • Facilitate users’ data requests and GIS handover packages.
  • Importing and extracting key geographical data from various file types.
  • Semi-automation of cartographic and data processing workflows.
  • Explore innovative GIS-related opportunities across the business.
  • Collaborate with external consultants as needed to enhance the ArcGIS system.
  • Take time to educate and improve yourself and the systems and processes to make our design and survey outputs more efficient.
  • Train and mentor company personnel on the ArcGIS systems when required.
