Our client, a leading manufacturing client based in Newcastle, are looking to recruit a number of Electrical Technicians to join the business on a permanent basis due to business growth. The successful candidates will be required to assemble and test Electrical / Electronic components used in sub assemblies and final build. Candidates will ideally be electrically trained with demonstrable experience in reading Electrical Schematics, panel wiring, soldering, crimping and terminating cabling.

Hours: Monday – Thursday – 8.30 to 5:00pm / Friday – 8:30am – 1:30pm. Any OT worked over 39 hours per week are paid at premium rates to boost earnings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble electronic/electrical sub assemblies from schematic diagrams, drawings or verbal instructions and following works order instructions to ISO9001 standards.
  • Wire and solder wiring harness and cable assemblies, transformer assemblies, control consoles, connectors, etc.
  • Perform limited troubleshooting and testing of assemblies.
  • Ensures assembly/sub-assembly build times are met to maintain department efficiency target of 100%.
  • Ensures assembly/sub assembly build times are met for major project schedule.
  • Complete all necessary documentation according to the requirements, (including timesheets, ECN etc.).
  • Carry out job tasks safely using good working practices.
  • Carry out all assembly work to the required department quality standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ideally candidates will be Time Served in an electrical discipline.
  • A good understanding of electrical/electronic systems essential.
  • Technical competence in Low voltage AC/DC panel wiring/looming, High voltage installations.
  • Experience in Electrical Testing.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and sketches.
