The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dedicated Community Safety Officer. This pivotal role focuses on promoting and sustaining community safety and cohesion. By collaborating with residents, local authorities, and partner organizations, the officer will ensure adherence to community safety legislation, effectively address anti-social behaviour (ASB), and help create a secure and harmonious environment for living and working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and address community safety concerns, ensuring adherence to ASB legislation.
  • Conduct visits, inspections, and assessments to determine necessary enforcement actions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including residents, local businesses, police, and council members, to develop community safety strategies.
  • Investigate reports of anti-social behaviour, identify solutions, and take appropriate enforcement action when required.
  • Prepare reports, statements of evidence, and legal documents for cases involving breaches of community safety laws.
  • Represent the organization in court, at public meetings, and with external agencies, providing expert technical and legal advice.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community groups and agencies to foster collaboration and safety initiatives.
  • Provide up-to-date technical guidance and legislative advice to stakeholders, including residents and council members.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
  • Knowledge of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and related legislation.
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in partnership working and community engagement.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
  • Proven ability to write clear and concise technical reports and legal statements.
  • Must have a full UK Driving Licence and access to a car.

Desirable:
