Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals to achieve independence? A National Charity is seeking a Housing Support Worker to assist service users in Luton, Watford, and Bedford, providing housing-related support and tenancy management.

THE ROLE

As a Housing Support Worker, you will support male and female tenants in supported housing, ensuring they receive the guidance and resources needed for independent living. Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with referral agencies and third-sector organizations to generate service referrals.
  • Conducting initial assessments of service users, identifying needs, risks, and suitability for the service.
  • Developing and delivering person-centred support plans to empower service users and help them achieve their goals.
  • Conducting weekly support sessions (minimum of two hours per service user) and maintaining accurate records.
  • Managing housing and tenancy-related duties, including rent account monitoring, property visits, and reporting repairs.
  • Supporting service users in maintaining their accommodation to Decent Homes Standards.
  • Collaborating with Probation Services and external agencies to ensure a joined-up approach to support.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, supporting vulnerable individuals in supported housing or social care settings. You will also have:

  • Experience in housing management, including rent monitoring and tenancy sustainment.
  • Strong record-keeping and database management skills for tracking service user progress.
  • Knowledge of housing-related support needs, including move-on planning.
  • Experience addressing anti-social behaviour and ensuring service user compliance with tenancy agreements.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with external agencies, including Probation Services.

THE CONTRACT

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM. 3-month contract, with potential for a temp-to-perm opportunity. £16.58 per hour (LTD) / £14.13 per hour (PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay).
