Are you an experienced Structural Technician interested in BIM and looking for that next step? We are looking for a senior structural technician with building structures experience for an established consultancy in Cardiff. This engineering consultancy typically punches well above its weight with the kind of projects it brings in and is recognised as a major player in the local market.
As a Structural Technician, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Drawing and modelling duties on building structures from a range of sectors
- Working closely with and supporting engineers
- Monitoring the technical output of the drawing team
- Obtaining a good understanding of issues on site and devising and providing solutions
- Communicating with contractors and architects
- Mentoring and developing junior candidates
As well as a challenging and stimulating role, on offer is contemporary offices and a pleasant working environment with free parking. This office covers sites across the South West and South Wales. They are involved in a number of exciting local projects including:
- RC Framed multi-storey structures up to 35 floors (hotels, apartments, student accommodation)
- Out of town retail sites around the UK
- Custodial projects
- Commercial buildings
- Hospital new builds and extensions
Essential criteria for this role:
- A relevant qualification in civil or structural engineering
- Experience working with building structures
- AutoCAD and Revit Structure experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of the design process
