Trainer/Assessor – The Role: As our Trainer/Assessor you will be responsible for the delivery and/or assessment of all first aid and related courses. You will support the work we do by working closely with our volunteering team, customers and other key stakeholders. Your main responsibilities will be to: To deliver training courses and conduct assessments to a consistent and fair standard in accordance with St Andrew’s First Aid requirements. To maintain current competence and continuous personal development, in accordance with the St Andrew’s First Aid National Headquarters Training Department requirements. To work with staff, casual workers and volunteers to maintain a high standard of training and assessing. Accurate completion and prompt submission of all relevant course documentation. To include the updating of Better Impact with Volunteer qualifications. To arrange and participate in meetings with Volunteer Trainer/Assessors. To work within St Andrew’s First Aid health and safety, training and other policies and procedures as implemented within the organisation. Trainer/Assessor – The Candidate: Essential: Standard Grades in English and arithmetic, Nationally recognised training qualification, Relevant valid course specific qualification, e.g. First Aid at Work, etc, Recognised assessor qualification, Experience of working in a customer focussed environment, Ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team and under direction from Line Manager, Ability to communicate with colleagues, volunteers and customers effectively, Trainer development, Willingness to adapt and learn new skills, Car owner and driver with insurance to cover business use (mileage paid) to meet role mobility requirements, Willingness to be flexible to meet the needs of the project in hand and a willingness to travel throughout Scotland, Smart professional appearance and a willingness to wear corporate dress, Clear Protection of Vulnerable Groups 2007 check.
