Abatec Recruitment is excited to be working with a leading Civil Engineering contractor to recruit a Contracts Manager for their Infrastructure - Water South Business Unit based in Oxfordshire working on the AMP8 Thames Water Framework. As a Contracts Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple projects, ensuring the efficient management of customer relations, health and safety, quality, environmental standards, programme management, and financial performance. This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected contractor with a strong focus on sustainability, quality, and safety.
As a Contracts Manager you will:
- Project Delivery: Oversee the establishment and execution of project objectives and targets as outlined in the Business Unit's Annual Business Plan.
- Customer Relations: Maintain effective, long-term relationships with internal and external customers, advisors, and stakeholders.
- Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Implement and maintain the company's strategy for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards to ensure adherence throughout projects.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and support project teams, including Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and Foremen, ensuring their development and performance.
- Problem-Solving: Be proactive in identifying and resolving project issues to keep things on track and meet deadlines.
- Commercial Management: Maximise profitability through reviewing working methods, alternative materials, and techniques, as well as ensuring the projects are delivered within budget and on time.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement continuous improvement processes within the team and across projects, focusing on enhancing efficiency and quality.
- Staff Development: Conduct annual appraisals for direct reports and support their ongoing professional development.
- Aftercare Services: Provide exceptional aftercare service to clients, ensuring projects are handed over smoothly and meet client expectations.
Our client requires a Contracts Manager with:
- Experience in a similar Contract Management role for a main contractor
- Experience as a Project Manager or similar for a main contractor
- Degree (or equivalent) in appropriate construction related subject
- Professional Qualification e.g. CIOB (desirable); CITB Level 3 Safety Course
- Appropriate CSCS Card (essential).
- High level of leadership and management skills
- Technical experience and knowledge
- High level of Commercial and Financial ability
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
Rate: £500 - £600 per day (LTD or CIS)
