Deputy Manager - Children and Young People Residential Home in Wigan. My Client is a leading provider of support packages to young people in and leaving care, in the Wigan area. I am recruiting for a permanent Deputy Manager to join them at the home in Wigan. Salary is £17 an hour + sleeps, dependent on experience, plus on-call £60 per day.
Essential Criteria:
- Must have experience supporting young people in a residential setting
- NVQ level 3 in Children and Young People or Health and Social Care or Equivalent or higher
- Driving License
The days are all 24 hour sleeps and will be on a 2 on 4 off basis. Semester Recruitment specialise in supporting young people ages 5-18 in supported living, semi-independent accommodation and children's residential homes. This is supporting young people aged between 05-18, you will be helping to increase their independence skills. It is essential that you have experience of working within a similar setting.
Desirable Training:
- Level 5 Leadership and Management in a social care setting
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High standard of general education
- NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care - Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent
- Willingness to undertake further training
- Current full driving licence with business insurance preferable
Job Purpose:
To be responsible for the provision of support for children by providing a therapeutic living environment for the young people to thrive, engaging with young people, safeguarding and child protection.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- To assist the Young person's allocated Social Worker in the delivery of the service.
- Provide transport/escort to the young person as directed in line with care plans.
- Conduct welcome and induction for young people.
- Ongoing assessments of Service Users’ needs.
- Provide ongoing support and monitoring of Service Users.
- Assist in welfare and NHS issues.
- Preparation of reports.
- Arrange appointments with various partner agencies.
- Maintaining regular contact with young people.
- Informing customers of support groups.
- Assist Move-On of Service Users.
Some shifts may also be 24 hours (sleepovers), great flexibility and 2-3 days a week would be full time hours. Excellent company with a great unit. This is a permanent position and will include holiday and pension.
