The Opportunity
Are you an experienced compliance or regulatory professional looking for a leadership role in a fully remote environment? We're seeking a Specification Manager to lead a team of technical experts in delivering regulatory and product information services to clients. You'll be the key technical face for clients, ensuring compliance and best practices while optimizing ways of working for efficiency and quality.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Managing multiple client accounts and ensuring top-tier service delivery.
- Leading and mentoring a team of Team Leads and Compliance Delivery Managers.
- Acting as the senior point of escalation for client and team queries.
- Supporting business development efforts by advising on quoting, resource allocation, and turnaround times.
- Ensuring high standards of technical compliance and regulatory advice across various product categories.
- Monitoring team performance, identifying training needs, and improving ways of working.
- Providing strategic leadership in the evolving regulatory environment.
- Deputizing for the Technical Controller or Head of Compliance Delivery as required.
What We're Looking For:
- Degree in food science, regulatory affairs, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum eight years' experience in a technical, compliance, or regulatory role.
- Strong knowledge of UK/EU product regulations, including codes of practice and legal requirements.
- Line management experience with multiple direct reports.
- Experience working with or for UK retailers in compliance or technical roles.
- Practical experience with specification or artwork packages.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites in the UK.
