Acorn by Synergie are seeking an experienced Hygiene Manager to join our client, a busy food manufacturing site in Liverpool. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest hygiene standards across the facility.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with site health, safety, quality, and food safety procedures, adhering to all company policies and identifying potential risks.
  • Oversee Health & Safety practices, including COSHH assessments, risk assessments, and documented safe systems of work.
  • Manage the segregation, storage, and safe handling of chemicals and associated equipment.
  • Oversee the ordering and stock control of hygiene consumables and chemicals, ensuring adequate supply levels.
  • Ensure line wash downs are completed efficiently and consistently followed in line with a structured deep cleaning schedule.
  • Provide training for new starters, including on-the-job training, and coordinate external training where necessary.
  • Attend management meetings as required to support site operations.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs) are regularly updated and adhered to.
  • Plan and manage staffing and recruitment to maintain an effective hygiene team.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working in a similar role is essential.
  • The ideal candidate must possess excellent communication and leadership skills to challenge and influence others professionally and constructively.
  • Strong knowledge of hygiene practices within food manufacturing and experience with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and regulatory compliance.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 10pm - 7pm, flexibility will be required to attend occasional production meetings during a Monday day shift. (Negotiable)
