About the Role

We are seeking an experienced GIS Architect to define and uphold IT architecture that supports the GIS vision and strategy. This role will provide technical leadership across the GIS domain, working closely with key stakeholders to align business and IT strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain current and future GIS architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Establish IT principles, governance models, and data policies with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct architectural reviews to ensure projects align with established standards.
  • Develop and implement a GIS architecture strategy, identifying emerging technologies.
  • Lead the evaluation of internal systems, business strategies, and IT processes to drive continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in telecommunications or utilities with complex system integration projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Physical Network Inventory (PNI), Smallworld GIS, and related architecture frameworks.
  • Expertise in enterprise and solution architecture methodologies (TOGAF, ITIL, BPMN, UML).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical architectures to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud environments, particularly AWS, and software development in multiple languages (Magik, Java, Python, JavaScript, PHP).
