An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the RFCA for Yorkshire & the Humber as a Logistic Support Officer (LSO) based in the Humberside & South Yorkshire ACF. You will be responsible for providing expert services in support of the Ministry of Defence, this is a full-time post based at the Cadet Training Centre in Driffield.

The RFCA for Yorkshire & the Humber (RFCA YH) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting the tri-service Reservists and Cadets across Yorkshire and the Humber, as well as providing support and assistance to the employers of Reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers. As an organisation, we engage with the community in order to improve understanding of the roles and needs of the Armed Forces in general and the Reserve and Cadet Forces in particular. We are dedicated to raising awareness of the contribution they make to the nation and our region.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Administrative support to the COY to enable Adults and Cadets to train safely and effectively
  • The coordination of maintenance (Works Services) of all buildings, stores, ranges, utilities and real estate within the COY Area of Responsibility (AOR)
  • Provide advice and assistance to the adult instructors
  • Act as the Building Fire Safety Officer for all property utilised by the company
  • Provision and coordination of all administrative, equipment and transport in support of training within the COY
  • Daily responsibility for the security, accounting, repair and maintenance of weapons, stores and equipment
  • Security and accounting of all ammunition stocks on charge to the COY
  • Evening visits on a regular basis to all detachments to issue clothing and equipment to cadets and adults and accounting for such
  • Attendance at the County Annual Camps to provide administrative and equipment support under the direction of the CEO/CQM

What you need:

  • Current, full driving licence including Category C
  • Good organisation skills
  • Ability to interact with a diverse range of people of various ages
  • Good IT skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to prioritise the workload to maximise the use of their time
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
  • Self-motivated, positive and flexible in their approach
  • Military Service at Warrant Officer/SNCO or equivalent is advantageous
