Our education agency is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Deputy Nursery Manager to join a well-established nursery in Winchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and nurturing environment, where you’ll play a key role in the development and management of a high-quality early years provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day operation of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care and education.
  • Leading and supporting a team of nursery practitioners, offering guidance, mentorship, and training to ensure a positive and professional working environment.
  • Overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of age-appropriate activities that promote children’s learning and development.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, including safeguarding, health and safety, and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Maintaining strong relationships with parents, offering regular updates on their child’s progress and wellbeing.
  • Helping to recruit, train, and develop staff, ensuring continuous professional development.
  • Deputising for the Nursery Manager in their absence and stepping into a leadership role when required.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (a Level 5 or above qualification is highly desirable).
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a nursery or early years setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • A passion for working with children and providing high-quality early years education and care.
  • A proactive and solution-focused attitude with the ability to lead by example.
  • Paediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
