About the Role

Artemis Human Capital have partnered with a busy local law firm who is seeking to hire an experienced and highly organised Legal Secretary to support a solicitor specialising in Family & Matrimonial Law. This is a part-time role, working four days per week (Tuesday to Friday), offering an excellent opportunity to join a well-regarded legal practice in a dynamic and client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to the solicitor, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
  • Manage and organise client files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Handle diary management, scheduling appointments, and coordinating court dates.
  • Liaise with clients, courts, and third parties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Prepare court bundles and other legal documentation as required.
  • Assist with billing, time recording, and general case management.
  • Maintain an organised filing system (both digital and physical).
  • Perform general administrative duties, including answering calls, taking messages, and handling post.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within Family & Matrimonial Law or Litigation.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work under pressure.
  • Understanding of legal terminology and procedures related to family law.
