Due to increased contract demand, we are actively recruiting for an Estimator to join our business development team. You will be dedicated to a large, high security contract in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria with some travel across the North West of the UK. You will be working across all aspects of commercial and industrial building services, including projects such as extensions, renovations, mechanical / electrical (M&E / MEP) upgrades and replacements, emergency repairs etc. Works could vary from small works to large projects within various building services disciplines (construction phases, building fabric, roofing, electrical, mechanical etc).
Duties:
- Working across various disciplines, ie: roofing, building fabric, electrical, mechanical etc.
- Working across various sized projects, ie: small works, remedial, upgrades, new builds/extensions, renovations, emergency repairs etc.
- Carrying out initial survey through to full costing / estimating with support from Quantity Surveying / Business Development team.
- Working within Barrow in Furness with some travel across the North West of England and occasional travel to North Wales (car allowance provided + travel / accommodation paid for by the business).
- Manage the bid and resource coordination process, including direct and indirect staff management.
- Prepare and compile proposal submissions, including solution and option appraisals.
- Maintain and update the Pipeline Reporting System, supporting business development reporting.
- Participate in divisional bid meetings and track submitted tenders.
- Support the formulation of tender returns and benchmarking for performance measurement.
- Identify cost-saving initiatives in line with contractual obligations.
Requirements:
- Experience in an estimating role within commercial environments.
- Experience / strong understanding of building services.
- Comfortable pricing small works and larger projects.
- Experience working in an SFG20 environment is desirable.
- Proficient IT skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Desire to progress into a Quantity Surveyor role in your career.
- Must have a full UK driving license and be willing to travel when required.
