The Plough is a beautiful pub located in the foothills of The Surrey Hills in between Leatherhead and Guildford. Effingham is a picturesque village, with a real mixture of traditional older houses and a handful of new estates that are being developed surrounding the village, along with a parade of independent shops. The pub is going to be benefiting from significant investment in January 2025, to help accentuate the traditional pub charm of the building and to elevate the large outdoor space.
The Challenge:
- Take charge of the bar, garden, kitchen and overall site
- Lead from the front and be the face of the business
- Ensure the necessary training and procedures are in place
- Deliver consistent standards of guest service in a structured and disciplined manner
- Seek to always over-deliver guest experiences
- Flex business needs depending on weather, season and events
- Perform calmly under pressure, managing in a hands-on and approachable manner, always with the best interest of the business, guest and team at heart
- Install a service ethos that relies on a combination of friendliness and impeccable standards with the ability to cultivate and nurture relations with the guest
