We have recently opened an exciting new restaurant in the heart of Mayfair and are looking for a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to help bring it to life. Located on Duke Street, this beautifully designed venue will deliver an elevated yet vibrant dining experience, combining exceptional food, outstanding service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
74 Duke is the newest concept from BVC Group, the team behind some of London’s most loved and innovative hospitality brands, including NAC, Crème, and Supernova. As Assistant General Manager, you’ll work alongside the General Manager and senior leadership to ensure operational excellence, lead a passionate team, and create memorable experiences that keep guests coming back.
POSITION SUMMARY
As Assistant General Manager, you will be a hands-on leader in the daily running of the restaurant, supporting the GM across all departments. You’ll help manage a high-performing team, uphold service standards, and ensure a smooth, efficient, and guest-focused operation morning to night. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, with a proven background in premium or high-volume hospitality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the General Manager in all areas of day-to-day operations
- Maintain and enhance service excellence, product quality, and overall guest experience
- Lead and motivate FOH teams, ensuring training, development, and accountability
- Actively engage with guests, resolving issues promptly and professionally
- Assist in financial management, including cost control, budgeting, and revenue performance
- Oversee rotas, shift planning, and team deployment to ensure optimal coverage
- Help manage supplier relationships, stock control, and ordering
- Maintain high standards in cleanliness, hygiene, and health & safety compliance
- Collaborate with kitchen and BOH teams for smooth operational flow
- Contribute to marketing initiatives, promotions, and events
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years in a senior supervisory or assistant management role within a restaurant or hospitality group
- Guest-first mindset with a deep understanding of hospitality excellence
- Proven leadership and people management skills, with a natural ability to inspire teams
- Confident in financials, inventory, and cost control practices
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication abilities
- Detail-oriented with high standards for service, presentation, and team performance
