Responsibilities
- Define and implement the overall supply chain strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and promoting operational excellence.
- Lead, manage and develop the team through the whole employee life cycle.
- Oversee high-level negotiations and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers to secure favourable agreements and ensure service quality.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to understand organisational needs and drive supply chain efficiency.
- Ensure the supply chain function adheres to legal, regulatory, and internal policies while proactively managing risks.
- Set KPIs and monitor the performance of the supply chain function, providing regular updates to senior stakeholders and driving continuous improvement.
- Identify and champion opportunities for innovation and process improvement, leveraging data insights to enhance supply chain operations.
- Manage and optimise the supply chain budget, ensuring cost efficiency and value delivery across all procurement activities.
Role – Specific knowledge & Skills
Essential
- Experience in leading complex Supply Chain functions for a geographically dispersed organisation.
- Designing and implementing strategic supply chain solutions which deliver value for money to an organisation.
- Extensive experience in procurement, including use of frameworks (e.g. Crown Commercial) and contract negotiation.
- Proven experience of embedding new ways of working across multiple areas within an organisation.
- Experience of working as an internal service provider to operational functions.
- Appropriate qualification e.g. Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field, or Full MCIPS status.
- Experience of managing a budget to drive cost efficiencies and value.
- Experience of stakeholder management and engagement.
Desirable
- Familiarity with charity sector or public procurement regulations.
- Experience in warehousing and distribution.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
