As a Sous Chef you are in a position of responsibility within the operation and key to the success of the business and thus must always carry yourself in a professional manner. Your tasks will include (but are not necessarily limited to):

  • Supporting the Head Chef in their daily tasks (rotas, ordering, stock control, menu management, allergens).
  • Be involved with the production and service of all food leaving the kitchen.
  • Take an active role in the recruitment and training of the junior chefs in the kitchen.
  • Interact well with customers.
  • Liaise well with the FOH team and create a cohesive environment to work in.
  • Ensuring that the kitchen is kept to the highest standards of cleanliness, accepting, and organizing deliveries.
  • Have exceptional knowledge in and adhere to all health and safety and food safety practices.
  • Be a positive member of the team and communicate well with others around you.
