Our client is a precision engineering business specialising in the design, development and manufacture of high-quality parts for the Aerospace, Defence and Automotive industries. The Machinist will have the opportunity to work within a busy toolmaking company who have entered an exciting period of growth and investment into their facilities.
Key skills required for the Machinist vacancy:
- Operate and set up Milling, Turning, Grinding, and Wire Erosion machines.
- Work from mechanical engineering drawings/schematics diagrams to assemble parts as required.
- Carry out inspection and quality checks using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Work to health and safety standards.
- Be organised and work to a high standard, keeping the work area clean and tidy.
The successful candidate for the Machinist position will have the following experience:
- Experienced in operating and setting up Milling, Turning, Grinding, and Wire Erosion machines. We will consider a machinist who has any of these individual skills.
- Able to work to tight tolerances from engineering drawings.
The role will be working a 40-hour week on a day shift Monday to Thursday, 7 am – 4.30 pm and 7 am to 2 pm Friday. Depending on the number of hours worked from Monday to Thursday, the remainder is required on Friday to bring the total up to 40 hours. Regular opportunities to earn overtime paid at 1.5x for Saturday and Sunday. 25 days holiday + 8 days bank or public holidays (33 days total).
