Supreme Recruitment are looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join one of our clients based in Sutton Coldfield. To work for a great company, an established family business leading to permanent work.
Job Purpose: Setting of machinery and production of wire
Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 6.45am - 3.30pm, Friday: 6.45am - 3.00pm
Pay: £13.44ph - £30,469pa
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Wire drawing
- Wire crimping
- Wire rolling
- Annealing
- Packing

The Wire Drawing operator sets up and operates one or more wire drawing machines to draw round or rod through one or series of dies to reduce its cross-sectional dimension, applying knowledge of the wire drawing machine, the working properties of metal and wire drawing. The operator studies specifications and determines setup procedures. Positions and secures specified dies in die holders. The operator takes redraw wire from feed reel, tapers end, and threads it through dies before securing the end of the wire onto the drawing block or onto spool which rotates and pulls wire through dies. The operator will weld ends of separate coils together as required to increase their length, using welding equipment. The operator inspects and measures drawn wire to verify conformance to specified shape, size, or electrical resistance, using measuring instruments, for example wire gauges, micrometers, and resistance testers. The operator documents measured parameters on works order cards.
