We are working with our respected Leominster based manufacturer for a Transport Planner on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the senior planning team with routing and scheduling all customer deliveries, being the main point of contact for drivers, liaising between the wider site operations teams.

What you can expect:

  • Full time, office based on a permanent basis
  • Monday to Thursday – 8am – 5.00pm and 8am – 4pm Friday
  • Salary - £24,500 - £26,000

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure all traffic planning activities are undertaken in line with legislative requirements.
  • Collaboration with the Transport Admin team to provide the correct information in order to book in with customers to maintain pre-defined delivery times.
  • Responsible for implementing recovery plans for customer deliveries.
  • Liaise with the sales and production teams to prioritise orders.
  • Provide customer service support, ensuring a good level of service and ensure customers are updated.
  • Assist the Senior Planner with finding cost effective solutions, undertake cross training to support and cover additional duties during holiday and absences.
  • Support the implementation of new software within the department.

What we are looking for:

  • Prior experience within logistics or transport, coupled with Driving Standards Agency and the Vehicle and Operator Service Agency, desirable.
  • Customer focused with good communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills across Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK mainland.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions, remaining calm under pressure.
