Carbon Architecture is an established, expanding company that has a strong reputation for delivering solutions which help businesses reduce Carbon, Energy and Waste. We are seeking a Business Development Executive to join the commercial team to maximise the rapid growth forecast over the next five years. Our main consultancy service focuses on energy management, carbon reporting and energy optimisation, with the team supporting on a number of services including Heat Decarbonisation Plans (HDPs), Net Zero Roadmaps (NZR) and supporting on Climate Change Agreements (CCAs). Carbon Architecture also has a Data Analytics platform (InMetriks), which is an energy data analytics service for industry and commercial buildings, focusing on energy, water and waste minimisation.
Working closely with the Senior Development Managers you will be responsible for generating new business from a designated territory of UK businesses, a mix of FMCG, retail, hospitality and public sector, explaining the benefits of Carbon Architecture’s portfolio of products and services and securing new clients with a particular emphasis on Green Mark and InMetriks. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven Business Development Exec to join a highly successful, fun and friendly team.
Responsibilities:
- Market research to identify best people to contact within prospective client companies – identifying the key “decision makers” and understanding their needs and selling benefits
- Develop a pipeline of qualified leads through research, meetings at trade shows and existing customers
- Proactively interact with prospective clients via telephone and email and document these communications clearly within the CRM system
- Gain new business through cold calling - lead chasing
- Hit and exceed quarterly sales and meetings targets
- Confidently articulate Carbon Architecture’s product offerings, identifying relevant solutions for each client
- Arrange sales meetings for senior business development managers
- Support the senior sales team through the sales cycle to secure new clients, including writing new business proposals
- Manage all inbound sales enquiries for your client base, dealing directly or passing to relevant specialist / existing account owner
- Gain a full understanding of all products and services, competitors and knowledge of the industry
- Keep the senior management updated about marketplace and competitor activity.
Required skills and experience:
- Minimum of 12 months B2B sales experience
- Results driven, motivated and passionate about sales
- Superior oral communication skills, excellent written & presentation skills
- A high degree of professionalism and organisational skills, used to multi-tasking and managing own workload and throughput
- A self-starter with a high level of self-motivation and ‘can do’ attitude
- Confident closer
- Resourceful, self-motivated, confident and competitive
- Experience in writing persuasive business proposals
- Great academic record, strong analytical skills & confident using MS office/CRM systems
- Bachelor degree in Sustainability, Science or Engineering preferable, but not essential.
- Passion for sustainability and the environment
- Full driving license.
