The physiotherapy team forms an integral part of the specialist palliative care team that provides high quality care to patients when disease is no longer responsive to curative treatment. In particular, physiotherapists provide leadership in rehabilitation, ensuring that patients are given the opportunity to optimise their function to maximise quality of life.
The post holder will be a member of the specialist multidisciplinary palliative care team and will contribute to the effective provision of rehabilitation and therapy support. He/she will undertake physiotherapy assessment and treatment of palliative care patients as an autonomous practitioner. He/she will be required to support the physiotherapy provision across the Northern Ireland Hospice.
The post holder will deliver physiotherapy in an in-patient, out-patient and community outreach setting. Commitment to working in partnership and collaboration with HSC and other organisations as required by NIH.
