Senior Quantity Surveyor

Abatec are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor, to join our client, a leading Civil Engineering Contractor with a company turnover of £200 million, to work on AMP8 of the South West Water Framework, which will deliver upgrades to water and wastewater assets, including treatment sites, pumping stations and reservoirs, during Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) and beyond. The successful candidate will be working at one of two main treatment works that supply the area. Currently, water is treated using slow sand filter (SSF) treatment technology as the main treatment process followed by disinfection using ultraviolet radiation and chlorination. Investment in the site will add ozone treatment, ceramic membrane filtration and granular activated carbon (GAC) processes to the water treatments, resulting in higher quality drinking water. As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will: * Have experience of applications and CVR’s. * Prepare forecasts/reports; cost, profit/loss, value etc. * Manage subcontract enquiries and prepare contracts. * Be responsible for minimising cost and maximising value, ensuring controls are in place to manage and monitor the operating cost base. Our client requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor with: * Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar. * Experience of working for a tier one Civil Engineering contractor, ideally within the Water sector. * Excellent communication skills. * Experience of commercially delivering multi-million-pound schemes. * A good knowledge of NEC suite of contracts.
