The Role
As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of fit-out and refurbishment projects, ensuring financial accuracy and profitability at every stage. Working closely with the Pre-Construction Manager and Senior QS, you will prepare estimates, manage costs, and support procurement, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. You will also collaborate with internal teams to quote high-quality, profitable deals that align with company targets, while streamlining processes and refining cost proposals to maximise value for both clients and the business. Additionally, you will:
- Assist with cost planning, contract administration, and financial reporting
- Undertake site measures, surveys, and quantity take-offs for projects
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare detailed quotations, tenders, and project documentation
- Support the delivery team with project cost variations and budget accuracy
About You
To be considered as an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will need:
- A minimum of one years post-graduate experience in a construction company
- Experience presenting cost proposals and pitching with confidence
- Experience using software such as Procore and CRMs
- Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts and their application
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- To be a proactive thinker
- To have a methodical way of thinking
- A Level 6 or HND qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Engineering and Management OR three years estimating/QS experience in a similar role without formal qualifications
